Join the Resistance

Watch Dog fans are in for a treat as Ubisoft Toronto unveils its newest addition to the game franchise. Watch Dog: Legion is the third installment of the popular action game that will take us to a controversial, near-future vision of London in the aftermath of Brexit. Like its predecessor, this game will bring you stealth, third-person shooting, driving, and, of course, hacking. Join the resistance and fight oppression in this never-before-seen gameplay innovation.

Welcome to the Open-World London

Watch Dog: Legion is set in the near-future in post-Brexit London, but, fear not, because it is not about politics. Instead, it is about the society that sits in the dystopian aftermath of Brexit. In the game, London is facing its downfall, and an all-seeing surveillance state is oppressing the people. Private militaries have taken control of the streets, and a powerful crime syndicate is preying on vulnerable citizens.

The open-world London is your playground. You can drive cars, hack CCTV cameras, play havoc in with people's lives and smartphones. All for the purpose of resistance. Unlike the other previous Watch Dog games, Watch Dog: Legion has no cast of traditional heroes. There is no protagonist with specific personalities. Instead, you can choose literally anyone you encounter in the game as your character. Whether it is the prim and proper banker, the renegade punk, or the 80-year old arthritic pensioner, any person in the game is a playable character

Watch Dog: Legion showcases some of London's most prominent areas, including Camden Market, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, and Brixton

Fight the Oppression

Any character you play will be a part of DedSec, an anonymous-style organization of hackers that resists the oppressor. Each of the characters comes with a background story that you can use to recruit them in the organization. Once recruited, you can assign them a class, either combat, stealth, or hacking.

Players can swap characters between recruits at any point in the game. The cut scenes will feature whoever it is that you are playing leaving the other members of the team go on about their task without your control.

Like Watch Dog 2, Watch Dog: Legion involves missions that span from breaking into a police station to hack servers to taking out operatives. The game puts a big emphasis on stealth, and there are plenty of new gadgets available. Of course, you also cannot eliminate a few car chase scenes that are very reminiscent of Grand Theft Auto

To make it feel more like a resistance, Watch Dog: Legion also comes with a co-operative mode that allows you to play the game with up to four members. With this, you and your friends can work together as you take up missions.

Players, however, must note that Watch Dog: Legion features permadeath. This means that if any character in your team dies, he or she can never come back. You will be forced to use the other members of your team. The same goes when your character is captured or arrested. You will have to switch characters to rescue the captured one.

Ambitious Game

Looking at it, Watch Dog: Legion has taken an ambitious leap that no games from the franchise have taken. The game's play-anyone scheme gives this game multiple storylines making it hard to speculate the endgame. More so, each character has his or her unique personality so they'll have a different approach. The game's map and graphics cannot also be discounted as they try to give you a near, life-like yet controversial image of post-Brexit London. However, this ambitious gameplay makes Watch Dog: Legion a cut above the rest.
